Sasoon Dock, Mumbai, India


 Fish Port, Sassoon Dock  is one of the oldest ports in Mumbai and one of the few in the city, open to the public. It is located in close proximity to the Cuffe Parade in south of Mumbai, and today it is one of the largest fish markets in the city. It is adjacent to the building of the Port of Mumbai, and the offices of the Department of Fisheries and goes to Oyster Rock, an island in the Mumbai harbor. Built in 1875 on reclaimed land, with the help of David Sassoon & Co., previously belonged to Dock Albert Abdullah David Sassoon (1818-1896), the son of David Sassoon, the Baghdad Jews and the leader of the Jewish community in Bombay. It was the first commercial dock in west India and that its construction helped establish trade cotton. David Sassoon called Prince of Bombay to become Chairman of the Board to promote the construction of a large dock. Plants of Sassoon, which is produced  silk and cotton in Bombay, also provide jobs for a large number of the inhabitants of Bombay.

Он соседствует со зданием Порта Мумбаи и офисами Департамента Рыболовства и выходит на Oyster Рок, остров в гавани Мумбаи. Построен в 1875 на мелиорированных земелях,  компанией David Sassoon & Co.,  
Ранее док принадлежал Альберту Абдулле Давиду Сассун (1818-1896), сыну Давида Sassoon, багдадского еврея и лидера еврейской общины в Бомбее. Это был первый коммерческий док в западной Индии и именно его строительство помогло наладить торговлю хлопком. Девид Сассун призвал принца Бомбея стать председателем правления по содействию строительству крупного дока. Заводы Сассун, которые производят из шелк и ситец в Бомбее, также предоставляют рабочие места для большого количества жителей Бомбея.
