Temple Beth Israel, Melbourne, Australia

I've never been in a synagogue. What I saw impressed me deeply. My new friend Rita Grossman told me that in their synagogue, there are very beautiful stained glass windows, but I could not imagine how incredible they will. The atmosphere and the space of the synagogue itself I liked it and I would love to attend the service. But maybe some other time. And I will tell about the stained glass windows more. Their author David Wright (David Wright)

Over the past 40 years, the Australian artist David Wright produced hundreds of high-quality art glass windows for churches, schools, chapels and the city's main synagogue. His works occupy a significant place in contemporary Australian art, but I believe that an artist of this level must be represented in international art centers.
David Feeling Australia and its dominant religion of Christianity is fueled by a variety of influences.
David Wright was born in Melbourne in 1948 and after graduating from the University of Melbourne in 1972, worked mainly on the glass firing. Highlights of his career is 54 square meters of stained glass in the church of Mary Magdalene, the Anglican Cathedral of St. Peter in Adelaide; two windows to the Australian parliament building in Canberra; 20 large windows to Temple Beth Israel Synagogue, St Kilda, Melbourne, a complex of Hindu-Christian Chapel on the island of the Turtle, Fiji and 90 square meters of internal windows of the Holy Spirit Chapel, in the oldest church in Sydney, the Anglican Church of St. James on King Street and many other objects. This is the number of his works, but the quality is not passed by a simple description.
Wright's art is represented in the National Gallery of Australia, the collections of the National Gallery of Victoria, the National Glass collections and more than a hundred works are included in numerous private collections of Australian and overseas. Exhibitions of his glass took galleries and museums of the United States, Europe and Japan. And here is a photo of his works from the main synagogue of the city of Melbourne!

Daintree Forest, crocodiles and cassowary birds

 http://daintreerainforesttour.com.au/blog/71-1-cassowary-in-the-daintree-rainforest.html
I noticed that  there are some tours in Australia built on tricks. It is of course well when in advance to attract tourist attention you show something special, to make them paid the money and then  you can say, well, you understand, that it is wild nature and we can not provide anything. Just like in the forest Deintri. Initially, they say that we will see a huge bird cassowari and also will have cruise along the river where crocodiles live! All this is great, but in the end of tour neither cassowari, no crocodiles. This trick is to divorce tourists.
And now everything in detail.

Daintree Rainforest is located in the north-east coast of Queensland, Australia, to the north of Mossman and Cairns. Forest occupies about 1,200 square kilometers (460 square miles) and is one of the largest continuous area of rainforest on the Australian continent. Along the coastline north of the Daintree River Forest suitable down to the sea edge. Tropical forest is named after Richard Daintree, Australian geologist and photographer (1832-1878).

The Daintree Rainforest is home to 3% of the total number of frogs, reptiles and other species of Australian marsupials and 90% of bats and butterflies. 7% of the species of birds in the country can be found in this field. There are also more than 12 thousand species of insects. All this diversity is contained within an area that covers 0.1% of the territory of Australia.

 About birds Cassowary:
Cassowary (/ kæsəwɛəri /) are ratites (flightless birds without a keel on their sternum bone) of the genus Casuarius, they are found in the tropical forests of New Guinea (Papua New Guinea and Indonesia) and the nearby islands of the north-eastern Australia.
There are three modern species. The most common of these, the southern cassowari, third highest and the second in severity, it is slightly less than the ostrich and emu.
Cassowari feed mainly on fruit, while all kinds of really omnivorous and can take a variety of other products of plant nutrition, including sprouts and grass seed, in addition to fungi, as well as invertebrates and small vertebrates. Cassowari very shy, but if you provoke them, they are capable of inflicting injury, sometimes fatal, both dogs and humans.

As habitats, Cassowary can live in the forest Deintri and maybe it's not a trick, can someone and met these amazing birds, but I had no luck.

With the crocodiles in the river Deintri I also unlucky. It is difficult to imagine that they can live in the river, which is not fenced from residential buildings. And the habitat is not convenient for  crocodiles. The whole side of the river is covered with sharply protruding stems of mangrove trees and crocodiles have no chance to go down to the water or out of the water.

If you have seen there crocodiles and Cassowari Birds, please mail me.

Rainforest, Queensland Australia

What is the Rain Forest, and how it differs from other forests. Let's try to find out. I am especially interested to find out what animals live in these forests as if walking through the woods it seemed to me that there are no animals. And if so, then why there is a forest?

Rainforests are forests characterized by high rainfall, ranging from 250 to 450 centimeters per year. There are two types of rainforests: humid forests and temperate forests.

About 40% to 75% of all species are representatives of the rainforest. It has been estimated that many millions of species of plants, insects, and microorganisms are still unknown in tropical forests. Rainforests have been called the "Pearl of the Earth" and "the largest pharmacy of the world", because a quarter of natural medicines have been discovered there. The rain forests also produce 28% of oxygen circulation in the world, they are called the light of our planet. Plants produce oxygen through photosynthesis from carbon gas and consume it through respiration.

The undergrowth in some areas of the rainforest can be limited penetration of sunlight at ground level. If the foliage canopy destroys or discharges, the ground beneath them will soon be colonized by dense, tangled vines and bushes, and small trees formed a jungle. The term jungle is also sometimes applied to wet tropical forests as a whole.

The top layer or dome top layer consists of trees, typically 30 meters (98 feet) and 45 meters (148 feet). The dome, according to some estimates, is home to 50 percent of all plant species. Epiphytic plants send up their trunks and branches to get water and minerals from rain and debris that collects on the supporting plants. The fauna is very diverse. A quarter of all insect species are believed to exist here. Scientists have long suspected the richness of the Dome as a habitat, but have only recently developed practical methods for its study. Even in 1917, naturalist William Beebe declared that "We have yet to find a new life of the continent is not on Earth, but at a height of one to two hundred feet above it, which stretches over thousands of square miles." A true exploration of this habitat only began in the 1980s, when scientists developed methods to reach the canopy, such as firing ropes into the trees using crossbows. dome study is still in its infancy, but scientists are also other methods, such as the use of balloons and airships to float above the highest branches and the building of cranes and walkways planted on the forest floor. The science of accessing tropical forest canopy using airships or similar towers is called dendronautics.

More than half of the world's plant and animal species are found in tropical forests. Rainforests support a very wide range of fauna, including mammals, reptiles, birds, and invertebrates. Mammals may include primates, felines, and other families. Reptiles include snakes, turtles, chameleons, and other families; while birds include such families as vangidae and Cuculidae. Dozens of families of invertebrates are found in rainforests. Fungi are also very common in rainforest areas as they can feed on decaying plants and animals. To our great regret, many kinds of tropical forests are rapidly disappearing due to idiotic deforestation, habitat loss, and pollution.

Djabugay people, Australia

People Djabugay (aka Djabuganydji or Tjapukai) are a group of Australian aborigines, who are indigenous to the mountains, valleys, land and water richly wooded part of the Great Dividing Range, including the Barron Gorge and surrounding areas within the Wet Tropics of Queensland.

The names of all members of a tribe have been given their ancestors and are passed down from generation to generation, and belong to the languages and dialects Djabugay; and it is not only the names and languages, it is also Djabugay knowledge, Djabugay tradition, Djabugay heritage and Djabugay laws. Local authors Rhonda Duffin and Rosetta Brim describe the boundaries of the country Djabugay (Bulimba) as follows;

"On Djabugay language spoken over a vast area from Gimuy (Cairns), Port Douglas and the west towards Mareeba. In the south of the territory expanded to almost Atherton ... different groups of Bama (man), speak their own dialect.

"BULURRU is the source of life.

"All things come from BULURRU -. The sun, moon and stars, the food we eat, all the creatures of the world, plants and trees, the rain, the earth itself came from Ourselves BULURRU."
Emerging from BULURRU since time immemorial the story of creation and the origin of all things, many of which have been performed and published by people even Djabugay. For example:
"For the people Djabugay« Era of Creation »(Dreamtime) describes the events associated with the creation of the world. The country Djabugay country" Bulurru "is" the spirit of creation, the sacred past, the word and the law to be followed. "With" Bulurru "ancestors went to path across ground carrying with them stories, songs and rituals, which were recorded and passed down from generation to generation. "

"The greatest ancestor of all living Gudju Gudju, Rainbow. Gudju Gudju can be converted to their ancestors, such as Budaadji, serpentine serpent, who created all the rivers and streams of the National Park Barron Gorge. During the rainy season, Gudju Gudju is in the form of a rainbow. The voice of the spirit of Bulurru can be heard through Gudju Gudju in the sounds of thunder.
In a book titled Djabugay Ngirrma Gulu: Djabugay Language Wood, authors, artists talk about Damarri, species-being (one of the two brothers), who, after many adventures, so tired that lay down, and whose body is now still possible to see the contours of Barron River Redlynch valley.

"For Djabugay people of their physical features not only confirm the veracity BULURRU laws, but they also act as tangible evidence of the continued presence of BULURRU and generic and totemic beings in the country Djabugay (bulmba).

"Thus, the landscape, and Storyplaces" and "Storywaters", associated with BULURRU, serve as proof of an essential relationship that exists between the Djabugay and ancestral beings BULURRU land and water.

Имена всех представителей племены были даны  их предками и они передаются из поколения в поколение и принадлежат к языкам и диалектам  Djabugay; и это не только имена и языки, это также и Djabugay знания, Djabugay традиции, Djabugay наследие, а также Djabugay законы. Местные  авторы  Рхонда Даффина и Rosetta Брим описывают границы  страны Djabugay (Bulimba) следующим образом;

Djabugay (bulmba).

For six months in Melbourne, I have not seen a single Aboriginal man. It seemed to me that something is wrong, can the government hides them. But having arrived in Cairns I realized, they prefer to live in areas with warmer climates. It was a great pleasure to watch the boys play rugby on the waterfront. Women hurrying to the celebration dressed in beautiful dresses and high heels. Of course, there were also drinkers, but without them in our society. On the second day of the trip, we went to Tzhapukai, an Aboriginal cultural center. I attended many cultural centers in different countries, but believe me, an environment full of cordiality and sincerity I have not yet met. Virtually the entire day was a performance the actors were so impressed that they seemed unable to stop. In the beginning, they do the face painting with earth colors to us, then began performing that tells about the origin of all life on earth. Then there were dances, which involved us, the audience. Later, we learned to shoot a bow and throw the boomerang. And then suddenly we were invited to a delicious lunch, to which we were served meat cooked on a fire in the leaves of bananas. I still remember with great fondness the stories of a remarkable woman named Rainy Forest Lady

Port Duglas, Queensland, Australia

In the small town of Port Douglas, I did not walk, but driving through the streets, saw that it was a lovely town and I wanted to learn more about it.
Port Douglas is a town in Far North Queensland, Australia, approximately 70 km (40 mi) north of Cairns. Its permanent population was 3,205 at the time of the 2011 census. The town's population can often double, however, with the influx of tourists during the peak tourism season May–September. The town is named in honour of former Premier of Queensland, John Douglas. Port Douglas developed quickly based on the mining industry. Other parts of the area were established with timber cutting occurring in the area surrounding the Daintree River and with settlement starting to occur on lots around the Mossman River by 1880.

Previous names for the town included Terrigal, Island Point, Port Owen and Salisbury. The town is situated adjacent to two World Heritage areas, the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest.

Port Douglas was No. 3 on Australian Traveller magazine's list of 100 Best Towns In Australia. Port Douglas township was established in 1877 after the discovery of gold at Hodgkinson River by James Venture Mulligan. Port Douglas Post Office opened on 1 September 1877. It grew quickly, and at its peak Port Douglas had a population of 12,000 and 27 hotels. With the construction of the Mulligan Highway it serviced towns as far away as Herberton.

When the Kuranda Railway from Cairns to Kuranda was completed in 1891, the importance of Port Douglas dwindled along with its population. A cyclone in 1911 which demolished all but two buildings in the town also had a significant impact. At its nadir in 1960 the town, by then little more than a fishing village, had a population of 100.

Green Island, Quinsland Australia

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWSTsti0SBQ

Right from the waterfront Cairns catamarans depart, and it takes tourists to Green Island. The color of the ocean was so blue, as in the pictures about the best beaches. The island is not big and everyone gets gear for snorkeling or diving. The water temperature is warmer than the body temperature, it seemed 40 degrees! Before swimming, we did a tour on a boat with a glass bottom and have seen all the beauty of the reef. Imagining the reef, I thought that the corral must be in color, through the glass, and I realized that it was magnifying, the entire bottom looked greenish, corral white, sometimes blue, in order to draw conclusions about the state of the reef, I going to check for myself and visit t the aquarium, which I plan to do this week. We had a great snorkel and saw fish and seaweed. The day was wonderful!
Green Island  (originally Dabuukji) is a coral cay 27 km (17 mi) offshore from Cairns, Queensland, Australia located within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park World Heritage Area. The island is surrounded by coral reefs and protected in the Green Island National Park. Most visitors come for the day. A luxury resort with 46 rooms is situated on the island
The island was formed approximately 6,000 years ago by waves depositing sand, coral, and other debris onto its coral foundations.

Today the island supports a range of vegetation, including dry coastal/beach plants and a vine thicket rainforest. There are no natural freshwater springs on the island so all vegetation relies on rainwater and a small freshwater lens located under the island.

The local Aboriginal people (particularly Dick Moses, speaking Yidinyji) have reported that some time back in the past (in time immemorial) Dabuukji (Green Island) was approximately four times the size it is now. The present coral cay is only the northeast portion of the whole, original island.

Nonrandom meetings.

I'm sure that in our life everything is predestined and our angels are always with us. Here and now, directly from the ladder, I met a girl named Sing. She herself comes from Vietnam studying in Italy and arrived in Cairns from Melbourne, as I do. Singh became my companion for the duration of the trip and it was very interesting to talk to. It turned out that our interests coincide and we had a wonderful time.

Cairns, Australia!!!

I planned my trip to the Great Barrier Reef several months in advance. The decision to go there was very hard. Before I came to Melbourne, I felt that should be sure to visit Sydney, but after spending 5 months in the bustle of the city, I gave up this idea. Moreover, I am very interested in all the same to check the condition of the reef. And here I am!
Cairns is a major city on the eastern coast of Far North Queensland in Australia. The city is the fifth most populous in the state of Queensland and 14 overall in Australia.
Cairns was founded in 1876 and named after William Wellington Cairns, Queensland Governor from 1875-1877. It was created to accommodate the miners on their way to the gold Hodgkinson River, but authorities later abandoned the idea, and the route was opened from Port Douglas. Later Kearns turned to the railway station and the main port for the export of sugar cane, gold, and other metals, minerals, and agricultural products from the surrounding coastal region.
The estimated population of the urban area of Cairns in 2015 was 147 993. On the basis of 2015 data, the related local government area has experienced an average annual growth rate of 2.3% over the past 10 years. Cairns is a popular tourist destination because of its tropical climate and access to the Great Barrier Reef, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. As for me, the city is absolutely beautiful!

Christmas coming to Cairns!
