When you use to live in Cape Town.

Cape Town is one of the most remarkable cities in the world in which I was able to visit. I found a good expression to describe the city- it has a dramatic landscape. And so it is arranged around the magnificent and magical Table Mountain, which is theathre scene gives us more and more stunning presentation of Powdered Wigs or Coated Tablecloth. When you constantly live in the city, you certainly admire and enjoy it, but soon gradually the impressions weaken, and as  I tell- " even in paradise gets boring." Another thing- go and come back here again, then you can enjoy all the delights of this stunning city. And it's not just the kinds of nature and the ocean views, believe me it is not so little, it's even in the food to which you are accustomed and without which you can not imagine yourself. Half a year of my life in Melbourne I was looking for where to eat the squid, and I found  that all of my Australian food tourism seemed to me just wasted money- I was not tasty. I'm not talking about India, for me, in the sense of power it was a real disaster. Cape Town- is not only a city with beautiful views, but also with great restaurants, galleries, theaters and cinemas, and above all very friendly people. And in this article I mainly publish photos of people taken on the streets.

Nordhoek is my love!

Noordhoek is a suburb of Cape Town located on one of the most beautiful roads of the Western Cape Rrovance-  Chapman Pick, it is  in thirty-five kilometers on  south of the city. The name "Noordhoek" was taken from Dutch and literally means "north corner". It is best known for its picturesque coastline and its long, wide sandy beach, which stretches south to the neighboring village of Kommetjie. This beach paradise with extremely white sand and I've always wanted to know how many kilometers it extends. Walk along the beach one way takes about one hour. At the southern end of the beach is picturesque thrown skeleton of the ship "Kakapo", which ran aground about a century ago, when the captain confused the Bay of Chapmans Peak to Cape of Good Hope.

In Nordok can be reached either by Chapmen Pick, which leads from Hout Bay or through the mountain road Ou Kaapse Weg, which runs through the beautiful Silvermine Nature Reserve - now part of Table Mountain National Park. Nordok has a small amount of beautiful villas, often with sea views, there are also located the manor where people keep horses and riding on a long sandy beach brings more attractive and fun for everyone, both those who like horses, or just  people who walking on the beach. Previously, it was a village where dwelt a hippie, but now Nordok turns into an expensive and respectable town. Many artists live in Noordhoek and it is wonderful!

Odessa, Ukraine

Opera House
On the pages of his blog, I describe the countries, cities, streets, customs- all that I see in my travels, but I forget to write about the city to which I always return, the city of my childhood, about the city that I see in my night dreams. This Odessa, Ukraine.

The city this year will be just 223 years old, it is young, but the moment when it was built acquired the character of a free and fun-filled city.

For me it is the city of my childhood and childhood are always remembered in the sunlight, puddles of which we ran barefoot,  the beaches on which they bring big bags with  lunches, the warm water from which it was possible to go only if you have the cold teeth were chattering .

Officially, the history of Odessa as a town made counting from 1794, the year after the decree of Russian Empress Catherine II on the basis of the town and harbor on the site of Hadjibeyan and 22 August (2 September) in 1794 after the prayer service and blessing of construction sites the first pile in foundation of the city were clogged .

The city was built of shellstone  unstable and therefore, there can be only in the first years it looked decent. As long as I can remember, how many films of different times I was not looking, always had the feeling that the city needs an update. Beautiful historic architectural monuments are almost always look tired. It is true that today, one should pay tribute and thank those who care about the historical center of the city and tries to preserve its charm. But at the same time, terribly ugly look, new high-rise buildings, which are both monsters hovering over the low buildings of past centuries.

Thinking about the fate of the city, I compareit with of the Belgian city Bruges, in which volitional decree is not allowed to touch not a single brick of the facades belonging to the 12th century and it works!

But the city is not only the houses and monuments, the city is the people! Historically, the city inhabited those who participated in its construction, and it was people of different nationalities in the streets it sounded Italian, Greek, French, Jews, Poles, Ukrainians and Russian. The city was a city of free men and for a while he was a city of free trade Porto Franco. It is called - Odessa-mother. That is why, probably another city that won my heart forever, also called the mother of cities Cape Town. They are very similar and both take part of my heart!

Temple Beth Israel, Melbourne, Australia

I've never been in a synagogue. What I saw impressed me deeply. My new friend Rita Grossman told me that in their synagogue, there are very beautiful stained glass windows, but I could not imagine how incredible they will. The atmosphere and the space of the synagogue itself I liked it and I would love to attend the service. But maybe some other time. And I will tell about the stained glass windows more. Their author David Wright (David Wright)

Over the past 40 years, the Australian artist David Wright produced hundreds of high-quality art glass windows for churches, schools, chapels and the city's main synagogue. His works occupy a significant place in contemporary Australian art, but I believe that an artist of this level must be represented in international art centers.
David Feeling Australia and its dominant religion of Christianity is fueled by a variety of influences.
David Wright was born in Melbourne in 1948 and after graduating from the University of Melbourne in 1972, worked mainly on the glass firing. Highlights of his career is 54 square meters of stained glass in the church of Mary Magdalene, the Anglican Cathedral of St. Peter in Adelaide; two windows to the Australian parliament building in Canberra; 20 large windows to Temple Beth Israel Synagogue, St Kilda, Melbourne, a complex of Hindu-Christian Chapel on the island of the Turtle, Fiji and 90 square meters of internal windows of the Holy Spirit Chapel, in the oldest church in Sydney, the Anglican Church of St. James on King Street and many other objects. This is the number of his works, but the quality is not passed by a simple description.
Wright's art is represented in the National Gallery of Australia, the collections of the National Gallery of Victoria, the National Glass collections and more than a hundred works are included in numerous private collections of Australian and overseas. Exhibitions of his glass took galleries and museums of the United States, Europe and Japan. And here is a photo of his works from the main synagogue of the city of Melbourne!

Daintree Forest, crocodiles and cassowary birds

 http://daintreerainforesttour.com.au/blog/71-1-cassowary-in-the-daintree-rainforest.html
I noticed that  there are some tours in Australia built on tricks. It is of course well when in advance to attract tourist attention you show something special, to make them paid the money and then  you can say, well, you understand, that it is wild nature and we can not provide anything. Just like in the forest Deintri. Initially, they say that we will see a huge bird cassowari and also will have cruise along the river where crocodiles live! All this is great, but in the end of tour neither cassowari, no crocodiles. This trick is to divorce tourists.
And now everything in detail.

Daintree Rainforest is located in the north-east coast of Queensland, Australia, to the north of Mossman and Cairns. Forest occupies about 1,200 square kilometers (460 square miles) and is one of the largest continuous area of rainforest on the Australian continent. Along the coastline north of the Daintree River Forest suitable down to the sea edge. Tropical forest is named after Richard Daintree, Australian geologist and photographer (1832-1878).

The Daintree Rainforest is home to 3% of the total number of frogs, reptiles and other species of Australian marsupials and 90% of bats and butterflies. 7% of the species of birds in the country can be found in this field. There are also more than 12 thousand species of insects. All this diversity is contained within an area that covers 0.1% of the territory of Australia.

 About birds Cassowary:
Cassowary (/ kæsəwɛəri /) are ratites (flightless birds without a keel on their sternum bone) of the genus Casuarius, they are found in the tropical forests of New Guinea (Papua New Guinea and Indonesia) and the nearby islands of the north-eastern Australia.
There are three modern species. The most common of these, the southern cassowari, third highest and the second in severity, it is slightly less than the ostrich and emu.
Cassowari feed mainly on fruit, while all kinds of really omnivorous and can take a variety of other products of plant nutrition, including sprouts and grass seed, in addition to fungi, as well as invertebrates and small vertebrates. Cassowari very shy, but if you provoke them, they are capable of inflicting injury, sometimes fatal, both dogs and humans.

As habitats, Cassowary can live in the forest Deintri and maybe it's not a trick, can someone and met these amazing birds, but I had no luck.

With the crocodiles in the river Deintri I also unlucky. It is difficult to imagine that they can live in the river, which is not fenced from residential buildings. And the habitat is not convenient for  crocodiles. The whole side of the river is covered with sharply protruding stems of mangrove trees and crocodiles have no chance to go down to the water or out of the water.

If you have seen there crocodiles and Cassowari Birds, please mail me.

Rainforest, Queensland Australia

What is the Rain Forest, and how it differs from other forests. Let's try to find out. I am especially interested to find out what animals live in these forests as if walking through the woods it seemed to me that there are no animals. And if so, then why there is a forest?

Rainforests are forests characterized by high rainfall, ranging from 250 to 450 centimeters per year. There are two types of rainforests: humid forests and temperate forests.

About 40% to 75% of all species are representatives of the rainforest. It has been estimated that many millions of species of plants, insects, and microorganisms are still unknown in tropical forests. Rainforests have been called the "Pearl of the Earth" and "the largest pharmacy of the world", because a quarter of natural medicines have been discovered there. The rain forests also produce 28% of oxygen circulation in the world, they are called the light of our planet. Plants produce oxygen through photosynthesis from carbon gas and consume it through respiration.

The undergrowth in some areas of the rainforest can be limited penetration of sunlight at ground level. If the foliage canopy destroys or discharges, the ground beneath them will soon be colonized by dense, tangled vines and bushes, and small trees formed a jungle. The term jungle is also sometimes applied to wet tropical forests as a whole.

The top layer or dome top layer consists of trees, typically 30 meters (98 feet) and 45 meters (148 feet). The dome, according to some estimates, is home to 50 percent of all plant species. Epiphytic plants send up their trunks and branches to get water and minerals from rain and debris that collects on the supporting plants. The fauna is very diverse. A quarter of all insect species are believed to exist here. Scientists have long suspected the richness of the Dome as a habitat, but have only recently developed practical methods for its study. Even in 1917, naturalist William Beebe declared that "We have yet to find a new life of the continent is not on Earth, but at a height of one to two hundred feet above it, which stretches over thousands of square miles." A true exploration of this habitat only began in the 1980s, when scientists developed methods to reach the canopy, such as firing ropes into the trees using crossbows. dome study is still in its infancy, but scientists are also other methods, such as the use of balloons and airships to float above the highest branches and the building of cranes and walkways planted on the forest floor. The science of accessing tropical forest canopy using airships or similar towers is called dendronautics.

More than half of the world's plant and animal species are found in tropical forests. Rainforests support a very wide range of fauna, including mammals, reptiles, birds, and invertebrates. Mammals may include primates, felines, and other families. Reptiles include snakes, turtles, chameleons, and other families; while birds include such families as vangidae and Cuculidae. Dozens of families of invertebrates are found in rainforests. Fungi are also very common in rainforest areas as they can feed on decaying plants and animals. To our great regret, many kinds of tropical forests are rapidly disappearing due to idiotic deforestation, habitat loss, and pollution.
